My natural inclination is to explore and to experiment, which has resulted in a variety of styles, media and subject matter : abstract geometric paintings in oils or watercolors; color field paintings in oils, watercolors, and acrylics; neo impressionistic paintings in oils and watercolors; naturalistic landscape and seascape paintings in watercolors, oils, and gouache; abstract expressionistic paintings in oils, watercolors, and acrylics; and minimalist paintings in acrylics, oils, and watercolor. In addition to flat paintings on canvas and paper, the search for my artistic “voice” has also led me into Constructivism, where I can create shaped canvas sculptural bas relief paintingsin white. I also construct three-dimensional bas relief paintings in brilliant reds yellows, blues and other colors.Click on Portfolio to view gallery of work. Except where noted all works are for sale. My summer passion brings me to the New England Coast for subjects such as lobstering off Bar Harbor, Maine, in watercolor; seascapes in oil paints; quiet Cape Cod coves in watercolor; watercolor paintings of the fishing fleet at Provincetown; and watercolor or oil paintings of docks with individual fishing boats at rest. Other paintings include the following subjects:
• oil paintings of fishing trawlers at Rock Harbor, Orleans, Cape Cod;
• watercolors of the dock at Wellfleet Harbor, Cape Cod;
• dramatic watercolor paintings of sun breaking through clouds over a New England cove.
In winter, my eye turns to winter landscapes in watercolor of the Connecticut countryside. Favorite subjects include snow covered country roads, trees and fields
